Heads Up! Tips to get the most out of your next portrait shoot
Headshots matter on some many levels. They give people in a glimpse into your personality and ultimately help them decide whether they want to engage with you. Here’s our top tips on how to get the most our of your shoot.
Relax: We are here to help. It can be overwhelming to come into a shoot and bring the winning look, but it doesn’t have to be. We can work with you and show you the photos as we’re moving, to help you adjust. We can also come to you or a location that you feel most relaxed in.
Style: Confidence is key and wearing something that makes you feel great can be a big help. Don’t leave it to the night before. Plan ahead or even ask a friend or family member if they have a favourite outfit of yours. You can also bring a few options on the day. For those who are still unsure, we also have trusted hair and make-up artists (for both women and men) that we can call in too.
Practice: Spend a little time in front of the mirror. Try to work out which side you like and some poses that make you feel most like yourself. If you’re unsure, we can help with this too the day. It really shows when you’re comfortable.
Plan Ahead: Think about the image you would like to project. Feel free to bring in some inspiration photos and chat to us about the type of vibe you’re hoping to achieve.
